Czech Language Court Interpreters/Translators
Czech belongs to the group of West Slavic languages. There are four periods in historical development of Czech language. The first period is called Ancient Czech period, then follows Old Czech period, Middle Czech period and finally New Czech period from the 19th century. One of characteristics of contemporary Czech is the difference in spoken and written language concerning semi-official and unofficial communications between people. Czech, as every Slavic language, was created through the expansion of Czech literacy and mission of the brothers Cyril and Methodius, but subsequent influence on the Czech script was made by the reform of Croatian alphabet conducted by Ljudevit Gaj. Roman Catholic religion has also been adopted in the Czech Republic.
As a country, the Czech Republic was originally created in 894 and the flowering of literature occurred in the 13th century when Prague was the centre of the Central European culture. At that time, Czech became the official language, together with Latin and German. The first dictionary of Czech was issued during the period from 1834 to 1839 in five volumes. Different historical and political events changed the opportunities for language development and the state of Czechoslovakia was created after the defeat of Austria-Hungary in the First World War, where Czechoslovak language was commonly adopted. Finally, in 1993 the Czech Republic and Slovakia split into two republics amicably, therefore two separate languages were created.
