Russian Language Translators
According to today’s statistics, Russian is in the fourth place on the basis of distribution and number of speakers (around 285,000,000). It is the largest Slavic language and belongs to the East Slavic language group. The official and only script is Cyrillic alphabet, which is composed of 33 characters.
Russian is the official language in the following countries: Russia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan and in the following regions: Abkhazia, South Ossetia, Transnistria, Gagauzia (in Moldova), Tulcea and Constanta (Romania), Spitsbergen (Norway), Crimea, the Odessa region (Ukraine) and the state of New York (the United States).
There are also countries where Russian is not the official language, but it is an important second language. They are: Armenia, Azerbaijan, Estonia, Ukraine, Georgia, Israel, Latvia, Lithuania, Moldova, Mongolia, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, Germany, Canada.
Organizations where Russian is an official language are: the United Nations - one of six working languages, the International Atomic Energy Association, the UNESCO, the World Health Organization, the International Civil Aviation Organization, the Community of Independent States, the Eurasian Economic Community, The Collective Security Treaty Organization, the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe and the Antarctic Treaty Secretariat.
